Just a few years ago, choosing a smartphone with a large screen was an impossible task, as such devices were almost non-existent in the market. The choice was as limited as possible: either some traditional Mi Max, or almost unknown devices for 5,000 rubles with suitable parameters.
Today, when people’s palms have grown significantly (just kidding), finding a device with a 6.8-inch or larger display isn’t a problem. But I will try to choose the least and most expensive gadgets with the best price-quality ratio. Also, the selection will include only those smartphones that can be easily bought in almost every store. It is necessary.
Why do people buy big screen phones today? Basically – watching movies and any videos including YouTube. They give it as a gift to kids who spend their days watching cartoons and endless Vlad A4s on social networks.
By the way I noticed that compact tablets have almost disappeared. I mean devices with a screen size of 7 – 8 inches. Although 5 years ago I saw many people on the street wearing a huge gadget in their ears.
But the diagonals of classic tablets have increased from 9-10 inches to 11-13 inches. But that’s another story.

It is one of the most affordable smartphones with a large screen. The display here measures 6.82 inches. The cutout for the selfie camera is teardrop-shaped, but clean enough. The display bezels are not completely smooth and are relatively thin.
Screen parameters: aspect ratio 20:9, resolution 1640×720 pixels, density 263 PPI, 60 Hz, IPS matrix, capacitive, supports multi-touch. Strangely, the matrix backlight brightness is up to 500 nits. It is an impressive figure for this segment. Judging by the reviews, the color gamut is close to sRGB, gamma and other features are quite reasonable for the cost.
What’s inside: MediaTek Helio G25 processor from 2020 with 12 nm process technology, IMG PowerVR GE8320 graphics, 2 GB RAM and 64 GB internal memory. You can install a microSD card up to 512 GB.
Infinix Smart 6 Plus main camera is 8 MP (can also do digital bokeh), front camera is 5 MP. Camera quality is typical for devices under 10,000 rubles. But not embarrassing.
The battery here is 5000 mAh. But provided the device has a “dead” processor, the operating time is average. But better than its closest competitors.
The smartphone has a 3.5mm jack, but lacks an NFC chip.
Overall, it’s a good device with its “cockroaches”: low performance, low RAM and slow charging.
By the way, there is a 3/64 GB version, but it costs 7,000 rubles. I would have paid more.
Infinix HOT 12 PLAY

Another infinix. True, it is very different from the previous one, although the price is only 2000 rubles more.
What’s improved: 4GB of RAM is now more than enough to handle any application and doesn’t slow down out of the blue. 90 Hz screen refresh allows you to get a new experience with your smartphone – the shell becomes visually faster. The main camera is slightly better at 13 MP. 6000 mAh battery and about two days of operation. Obviously a pleasant bonus is the presence of an NFC chip. Reviews write that the smartphone is suitable for contactless payments, as well as for replenishing Troika cards.
Screen: aspect ratio 20:9, resolution 1612×720 pixels, density 259 PPI, 90 Hz, IPS matrix, capacitive, supports multi-touch. Disadvantages include the brightness of the backlight, which does not exceed 350 nits.
What’s inside: An even older Unisoc Tiger T610 processor with 12 nm process technology (it struggles to reach 200K in Antutu), Mali-G52 graphics, 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal memory. You can install a microSD card up to 256 GB.
Controversial smartphone, I agree. But it is worth considering.
Tecno POVA Neo 3

Immediately minuses – low screen resolution of 1640×720 pixels. But otherwise the smartphone is extremely interesting!

Pay attention to the design: hard, flat, buttons are big and comfortable. 3.5mm, is USB-C. NFC is present.
The Tecno POVA Neo 3 smartphone is capable of playing YouTube at maximum brightness for about 18 hours, and heavy toys drain the battery in 10-12 hours!
MediaTek Helio G85 with 12 nm process technology is responsible for performance, graphics are Mali-G52. In the Antutu test, it scores around 280,000 points. More or less enough for version 10 of the benchmark.
Something unusual: the smartphone is equipped with stereo speakers. One is below, the other is above. The quality is quite normal.
Overall, it turns out to be a cool device for the money.

The processor is the familiar Qualcomm Snapdragon 680, 8 GB RAM, 128 GB internal memory, 50 MP main camera.
Dimensions, weight: 171 x 80 x 8.9 mm, 214 grams.
In video playback mode, it lasts for 15 hours at maximum brightness, and games drain the battery in 8 hours. The device works online for two days, or about 9 hours with the screen glowing. The kit includes a 22.5W adapter.
Of course, there are compromises:
- Bluetooth version 5.0;
- Lack of 3.5mm audio output for headphones;
- microlog shell or system;
- Only one main camera without ultrawide.
Also, not everyone will understand the huge “notch” in the screen (we know it’s a reference to the Mate 50 Pro). Well, as usual, there is no GMS.
Unihertz Luna

The key feature of this Unihertz Luna device is the LED backlight, which runs nicely on the back of the device. The most important thing is that these devices have LEDs on the back cover (they cover quite an impressive surface), which are placed in a certain order. Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra

The device needs no introduction: Samsung’s most popular smartphone at the moment.
I can’t say that a huge display is used here, but the screen is impressive: 6.8 inches diagonal, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, resolution 3088×1440 pixels and about 500 ppi density, refresh rate up to 120 Hz, dynamic AMOLED 2X matrix. Don’t ask about PWM, it’s all over the place here.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4

The most popular smartphone with a folding display. On Avito they sell it for 90,000 rubles. Elsewhere, the price averages 110,000 rubles.
The trick is that you’ll actually have two screens: one 6.2 inches, and the other 7.6 inches.
The ergonomics are awkward; You need to get used to the second big screen. The device cannot even be called compact. There are almost no competitors for its price.
Techno Phantom V-Fold

- Italics: 7.85 inches
The second screen here is even larger – 7.85 inches, and the “small” one is 6.4 inches. I can’t say that the device is popular, but if you take it at retail, the Phantom V-Fold is the most affordable folding device under 100,000 rubles.
Let’s briefly list the main advantages of smartphones:

HUAWEI Mate X3

An unrealistically expensive smartphone, rivaled only by the Fold 5. I included it in the selection because Huawei is almost the thinnest folding device (more precisely, with a flexible fold-type screen). The Mate X3 is 5.3mm thick when opened. The metal and glass body is protected to the IPX8 standard. Durable Konlon glass protects the screen from scratches.
The main large display is 7.85 inches, and the outer display is 6.4 inches.

The selection included the most popular models with purchased screens. As you can see, tablet phones with 7.3 – 7.8 inch screens have disappeared from the market. These have been replaced by countless smartphones with 6.5 – 6.7 inch displays. And a new era of development in diagonal enhancement followed in the direction of elastic fold-type matrices.
