How we tested
All robot vacuum cleaners featured in this review have been tested by a member of our team over the course of weeks. (Previously, we tested the Roborock S7+ and the Neato BotVac D8 but decided against it no (to include them in our latest update.) After conducting extensive cleaning tests, we’ve found that the best robot vacuums for pet hair offer two key features: Empty yourself And Superior carpet cleaning.
Due to the amount of debris from shedding pets, it is helpful to vacuum yourself. And since pet hair often gets stuck on top of and inside carpet fibers, robot vacuums for carpets also specialize in cleaning up pet hair. We also found that suction power is an important factor in cleaning up pet hair, which is why vacuums like the Roomba j7+, Roomba s9+, and Roborock S8+ performed so well in this category.
Over the years, the Mashable team has tested dozens of robot vacuums, including flagship models from iRobot, Roborock, Ecovacs and Shark. Unfortunately, not all of these Robux were up to the challenge of cleaning up pet hair.
When evaluating robot vacuums, we consider several factors:

For obvious reasons, the latter feature is the most important, especially when looking for the best robotic vacuum for pet hair. When choosing the products to include in this review, we gave special consideration to how effectively the vacuum cleans human, cat, and dog hair on hardwood, carpets, and around edges and corners. We looked for vacuum cleaners that could easily remove hair hidden in corners, as well as hair hidden in area rugs and floor mats.
With all of this in mind, we’ve selected six vacuums to recommend to pet parents. Since we’re always testing new robot vacuums, we’ll keep updating this guide as we find new models.
