Saturday Night LiveWeekend Update returns this weekend with the season premiere of the comedy show. Hosts Colin Jost and Michael Chee address the most important and terrifying news of the week: the conflict between Israel and Hamas in the Middle East.
The hosts did not necessarily talk much about the conflict or the deaths of Palestinians and Israelis, but rather the state’s response to it.
“Well, it was a terrible week for the world but a great week for random idiots who like to share unsolicited ideas wherever they can,” said Jost, who accompanied the logos of social media sites. There is also a graphic shown.
“And the weird thing is, it’s not even on social media anymore,” Jost said. “I saw a 1,000-word article called ‘How I’d Fix Palestine’ posted in a Yelp review for Buffalo Wild wings.”
The host then noted that world leaders are also making it worse, especially former President Donald Trump.
