It looks like Threads may finally get a Trending Topics feature, reinforcing the siren call of the meta’s Twitter/X rival.

As reported by 9to5Mac, a screenshot accidentally leaked by a Meta employee has revealed what appears to be a trending topics interface for Threads. Apparently running on an internal version of the platform, a list of topics appears below the search bar and is numbered from one to five.

Despite the numbering, the order of the list is likely somewhat random—or its content has been somewhat fixed. While there are only 562 threads about footballer Chase Claypool, he is listed ahead of Blackpunk member Jenny’s solo song “You and Me” which has 31,800 threads.

The screenshot was first spotted by developer Willian Max when it was accidentally posted on the threads by a Meta employee. The original post was quickly taken down, however Max managed to get the photo before the poor employee deleted it.

Meta has not yet announced when we can expect to see Trending Topics feature on non-internal versions of Threads itself. However, at this stage it is only a matter of time.
